One of the most beautiful events in the Jewish week is when the Shabbat candles are lit. It is a lovely moment of acknowledging the coming Shabbat, where the whole household slows down and takes a breath as the candles are lit. It is customary to take a few moments for personal prayer at this time.
It is said that Sarah, the wife of Abraham, would light candles every Shabbat, and her candles would miraculously burn for a whole week! By lighting candles on Shabbat evening, you are part of a beautiful Jewish tradition that stretches back to Sarah!
Emanuel has brought his signature charm to these colorful silver and enamel candlesticks. They playfully elegantly reflect the light of the Shabbat candles and are designed to hold either a pillar candle or a votive.
